I am Wenchao, a current MA student in Intercultural Communication at University College London, aspiring to bring diverse cultures together through my passion for international relations and digital media. With a rich educational foundation from the University of Toronto, I specialize in International Relations with additional studies in Book and Media Studies and Economics. I thrive in dynamic, multicultural environments, demonstrated through my international internship experiences ranging from marketing operations in Canada and China to financial editing and online education project management.
As a partner at J·R International Partner, I successfully integrated designer brands across continents using innovative online sales strategies. At DeepDive, I supported global initiatives under the guidance of prominent figures in the rowing world, and at Shanghai Huanxun Culture and Media, I handled financial editorial responsibilities with acumen. Outside of academics and professional commitments, I lead and engage in various student organizations and manage a popular social media account, which speaks to my ability to connect and communicate effectively across platforms and cultures.
Fluent in English and Chinese with basic Korean proficiency, I am equipped with the skills to navigate and connect diverse linguistic and cultural landscapes. I am looking for Marketing/Communications/Media internships based in Toronto.
My capacity to work with different people under high pressure and multicultural communication skill have been greatly testified and strengthened during several internships. Particularly, since June 2022, I have been interning in DeepDive Internationalization Promotion Team in Canada. In this team, I was assigned to assist Ken Lee (World Rowing International Umpire) in the Global Canal Rowing Action.
The action aimed to promote the concepts of low carbon, physical health, and global connectivity by rowing through canals in 100 cities of different countries. This experience allowed me to develop strong market insight and enhance my communication and teamwork skills. Furthermore, my role as a Marketing Operation Trainee at Meituan Bed&Breakfast provided me with hands-on experience in marketing operations, including copywriting and content creation.
Currently pursuing an MA in Intercultural Communication at University College London and holding a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Toronto, I have cultivated a diverse skill set that aligns perfectly with the responsibilities outlined for this role. My academic journey has instilled in me a quest for knowledge and a keen understanding of global cultures, both of which are essential for providing insightful and personalized service to your guests. My course in London has ended so I can return to Toronto before starting work.
