Volunteer Receptionist and Administrator
Currently, I am a volunteer Receptionist and Administrator at St Luke's Hospice, Basildon; which I enjoy very much. I have undertaken NHS Safeguarding CBT training. I was employed in the capacity of Office Administrator and Secretary at European Suppliers Limited, within the recycling industry until September 2024.
The company had to diversify back in 2012 from a food wholesale company to a scrap metal recycling company. Together with the team and the Directors, I was instrumental within the transition of this particularly important change of business. This involved being dynamic in obtaining the relevant licences with the local Government Licensing Department in line with the compliance legislation.
Registering the exemption licences with the Environmental Agency, this enabled me to assist in running the company compliantly and safely. My responsibilities included all day-to-day administration for the company and its Directors. Invoice issuing and credit control, HMRC compliance surrounding quarterly Vat Returns and Corporation Tax returns, working closely with the accountant.
Setting up new client portfolios for the company in line with GDPR protocol was also a particularly important task assigned to me and ensuring European Suppliers Limited was registered with the ICO. During my Secretarial Career I have held the positions of Team and Corporate Secretary and Executive Secretary/Personal Assistant both within the banking and Surveying Industries, of which I have gained a wealth of experience and knowledge working within the Secretarial field. Working as a Customer Services Officer within the banking and finance industries, I also have gained a wealth of experience and knowledge within this industry.
Working as part of team is something I really enjoy. I consider myself to be dynamic in achieving my goals and can work diligently and on my own initiative. Being a problem solver is a strength I am proud of.
I have excellent interpersonal skills and can adapt to any work environment and embrace change and learning. I have always enjoyed learning new tasks, which has helped me to progress my career. The skills that I have learned through my career are very important and transferrable, which are useful for the diversification of evolving job roles and markets for my future career.
