Education Health and Care Plan Assistant at Coventry City Council (2023-04 – Present)
Working in Statutory Assessment and Review team within the Special Educational Needs and Disability services, I have gained vast experience in the following:
- Administrative tasks related to the EHC needs assessment procedures for children and young people undergoing a statutory assessment, directed by the Education Health and Care Plan Coordinators.
- Acting as a first point of contact for parents' enquiries arising from an EHCP needs and relevant agencies, professionals and involved in the processes and offer advice and support.
- Casework involving monitoring the progress of statutory assessments, ensuring compliance with statutory deadlines were met.
- To be responsible for the administrative arrangements for the placement/transfer of pupils within and out of city schools and colleges, in liaison with Education Health and Care Plan Coordinators, ensuring that placements have management approval, are accurately entered on Capita and any financial systems as required, and that any changes to arrangements are promptly and accurately recorded for data monitoring and financial forecasting purposes and all data entry was accurate and timely.
- Fostering partnerships with all agencies involved in the EHC needs assessment process, including schools, advice providers, support agencies and families.
- To be responsible for the overview of and administrative procedures in place relating to, provision planning for specialist placements including special schools
- Use of IT to support tracking statutory deadlines utilizing Capita, Protocol, and other administrative systems.
- Accurately maintaining and developing databases and central spreadsheets and ensure that information technology is embedded in the business processes of the team.
Apprentice Project Support Officer at Coventry City Council (2022-06 – Present)
As an Apprentice Project support officer in the Migration Team, I have supported the wider team with projects such as Homes for Ukraine, and supporting Asylum Seekers, gaining experience in the following:
- Inter-agency working to provide the best outcomes for service-users, such as referrals for financial/housing/employment/language support.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and developments in policy impacting refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants, including adjustments in rights, to tailor provision of support accordingly.
- Working actively to provide suitable outcomes, whilst meeting varying needs, and overcoming accessibility barriers faced by newly arrived communities.
- Communication with partner organizations, and stakeholders to meet deadlines, and to provide the best suitable outcomes for service users.

Empowering Families Volunteer at National Youth Advocacy Service (2022-04 – 2022-12)
As an independent visiting volunteer, working with vulnerable families I have gained experience in managing individual, unique cases, with a holistic, person-centered approach.
- Knowledge of legal limitations applied to each client regarding their child in need/complex care plan in place.
- Empowering individuals to commit to lifestyle changes to facilitate personal, physical, and emotional well-being.
- Building trusting, consistent relationships between service users and services, to facilitate development.
- Signposting to wider services, targeting underlying implications on well-being such as housing/employment/ill-health.
- Inter-personal skills to supplement support to a wide range of individuals, with varying needs.
