Zhishan Liu

I'm a passionate researcher doing my PhD at Cardiff University. My background in cognitive psychology and neuroscience/neuropsychology drives my study on learning's cognitive and brain processes. Before starting my PhD, I earned a Master's in Neuroimaging at CUBRIC, Cardiff University.

My studies focused on neuroimaging research design and analysis, clinical neuroimaging investigations, and memory function and dysfunction neuroimaging. My undergraduate degree at the University of South Wales covered cognitive neuropsychology, forensic, and clinical psychology, equipping me for my later multidisciplinary studies, leading to a wide understanding of different fields in psychology.

I have excelled in teaching positions such as Post-Graduate Tutor and Co-Supervisor, assisting psychology students with important components of academic research, as a dedicated researcher and educator. I developed my research abilities while working as a Research Intern at the Cardiff University Brain Imaging Centre (CUBRIC), in addition to my teaching duties. I oversaw a large experiment here that examined the connection between learning generalisation and sleep.

These experiences have improved my knowledge of psychology and research techniques while also strengthening my commitment to promoting the advancement of future researchers.
