Worked as part of the team going to the woods. One lad on a chainsaw cutting down trees I was loading the cut timber by hand with my work colleagues into a trailer to bring back to the yard. At the yard I had to split the timber and bag the timber to be sold as firewood to Fuel Stations. I cleaned as the work went on. The shifts were Monday to Friday 7am – 5pm. Worked as an apple crusher at Bulmers as part of the team. The first two weeks I was brought in to do the cleaning of the crusher area. When the apples arrived, I unloaded the apples into the pits. Handling paperwork with the drivers there were a six-digit code I had to log into the computer system so the drivers can weigh out on the weight bridge.
On the line you would be watching the apples ready to be crushed. The apples were brought onto the line with water. Our job was to be alert for debris like rocks, bottles and timber so it would not ruin the crusher.

(2023-01 - 2025-06)
Worked as part of the team on kindling machines and bagging firewood logs. Working with this company I bagged kindling and firewood for Aldi and Tesco Ireland plus fuel stations local to the area of Cahir. Working on the kindling machine I was loading chopped timber by an axe into the machine, bagging kindling and stacking the bags onto a pallet.
There were three people on the machine, one: loading the timber on the shoot. two: organizing the kindling sticks in a certain way to be bagged. three: bagging the organized sticks. Wrapping and preparing them to be collected to be put into a storage shed by a forklift. I would be able to drive the counterbalance forklift and take the stacked pallets to the storage shed.
When working with the firewood logs, we had to test the timber for moisture to make sure they were fully dried to a certain moisture. If the timber was still wet with moisture we would put the timber back into a closed shed with heaters. I cleaned as the work went on.
The shifts were Monday – Wednesday 8am – 5pm.

Spotter - Bothar Drilling LTD - Bagnelstown Co, Carlow, Ireland
(2025-09 - 2025-10)
I was shown what sort of work they do. It was new to me so everyday was a learning experience. The first week I spent a few days local to the area of Clonmel drilling a hole underground across the road while traffic was still on the go.
The company we were drilling for, was Irish Water. I wasn't working the machine itself; I just watched on. For the following three weeks I worked in Lucan, Dublin as a spotter. I was given accommodation & evening meal supplied by the company.
We were drilling a hole underground, under the River Liffey for Fibre Cables for Intel & KN Cirect. It took three weeks to drill the hole under the ground; you had to change the drill bits when the drill rod reached the other end of the hole. At times I had sent back returns.
When the work finished on a Friday we were sent back home for the weekend.
