Ananya Biswal

A desire to expand my aesthetic sensibilities and learn about the cultural similarlities in different societies and ethnographies incited me to pursue a Masters degree in Arts and Aesthetics. I also have a bachelors degree in Mass Communications. My educational background has instilled in me a strong flair for writing and researching which will be essential as a Researcher at FAO.

I studied art history, cinema and theatre in depth. I have working experience in newsrooms where i covered all kinds of beats starting from hard news like politics, economics and gender issues to entertainment and culture. I am also a theatre practitioner and my background in mass communications and theatre and performance studies makes me sensitive to socio – cultural changes which will mirror in my abilities as a researcher.

The Hindu Reporter - Covered all beats like politics,culture, features, crime, protests etc - Interviewed personalities activist TM Krishna, writer Shaheen Bhatt and covered the massive protests that hit the country in the wake of NRC-CAA controversy. -I worked for 4 months with over 70 bylines. Greenroomnow - Worked on campaign ideation for brands like Mia by Tanishq - Client servicing for instagram influencers like Komal Pandey, Anandita Agarwal, etc - Worked on the software Quant which is suitably designed for the purpose of marketing. Interned at Muskurahat Foundation to raise funds for underprivileged kids which would promote inclusive education which would help in holistic development.

I finished my ICSE and ISC examinations from Loyola School, Bhubaneswar. I did my bachelors from Xavier University Bhubaneswar, during which i did three internships. I also completed my Masters in Arts and Aesthetics from JNU in 2022. During my bachelors and my Masters i was actively pursuing my interests that lay in theatre, writing and even dance.
