Responsible for the achievement for the Instrumentation and Automation tasks in a project including conception (frontend loading) basic and detailed design, procurement, construction and start-up of large capital project within Asia Pacific.
- Lead a team of engineers and designers to deliver end-to-end control system and field instrumentation engineering for complex industrial projects. Engineering design reviews.
- Acts as primary technical focal point for correspondence between client as well as vendors.
- Coordinates with Engineering & Project Manager for resource planning and progress tracking. Manages project changes and ensures their effective implementation in design.
- Responsible for progress reporting against Level 3 schedule. Monitors overall progress of activities to meet milestone schedules.
- Engineering tools such as Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI/INtools), AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Navisworks.
- Oversee instrument sizing and selection for control valves, safety relief valve, on-off valves, and flow meter sizing, pressure, thermowell calculation and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Prepare, Review and approve key engineering deliverables including Basis of Design, Instrument Datasheets, Hookup drawings, JB layouts, and Cable Schedules, Instrument Index, Cable Block Diagram.
- Coordination with internal disciplines (Electrical, Building, HSE, Piping, Painting, Civil, Insulation). Participate in 3D model and constructability review. Designs and supports instrumentation and control for packaged equipment.
- Ensure smooth interfaces with clients, vendors, and engineering subcontractors.
- Participates in HAZOP and SIL classification meetings to implement robust safety systems and ensure HSE compliance. Understanding of functional safety life cycle in accordance with IEC 61511.
- Reviews and approves engineering documents as control system design philosophy, specifications, architecture, and system configuration, Process Control Narratives, Cause & Effect Diagrams, Sequence & Logic Diagrams, Safety Requirement Specifications (SRS), Alarm Management strategies and Graphic Display sketches, Instrument Index, I/O lists, and Instrument Wiring/Connection Diagrams, Instrument Building/Room Layouts and Cabinet Layouts, MTOs, Design inputs to vendors and inquiry packages including requisitions. Input to Construction work contract.
- Prepares, checks, and approves technical bid evaluation reports and vendor document reviews to ensure compliance with project specifications. Prepares technical correspondence and queries to clients.
- Leads Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) at vendor facilities. Performs field engineering work at construction sites.
- Plans and executes Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and pre-commissioning activities. Conducts sequence and logic testing during commissioning. Operational Handover with As-Built Documentation Dossier.
- Deployment to construction sites with duration of such assignments from 6 months or longer, depending on project needs. Construction Quality Inspection and Quality Documentation Dossier preparation.
- Contribution to the departmental activities such as department guideline preparation, lessons learn and best practices preparation and participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Implementation of ISA S88. Awareness of cybersecurity principles and standards according to IEC 62443.

- Define the basic Instrumentation and process control automation schemes as per the BASF design standards.

Reporting the progress status of discipline activities on scheduled basis as per the requirement. Ensuring completeness of as built documentations and records and hand over to user departments.
