Extensive fieldwork in the coastal and estuarine waters of west coast of India.
Collection of biological samples for various studies like zooplankton, phytoplankton, microbiology and macrobenthos.
The operation of major oceanographic equipments including CTD (vertical profiles of temperature, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, fluorescence etc.), Multiple Plankton Net (collection of zooplankton from desired depth zones) and van Veen grab (collection of macrobenthos).
Collection of water samples for the analysis of various physicochemical parameters such as salinity, pH, nutrients, dissolved oxygen, suspended solids, water temperature etc.
