Dr. Mahesh Murthy is a highly skilled and experienced Loss Prevention and Risk Management professional with international work experiences in the areas of Process Safety, Technical Safety Business Continuity, Enterprise Risk, Emergency Preparedness, Regulatory Compliance, Change Management, Succession planning, Assurance, Budgets, Performance Matrices, and Integrated Activity Planning.
Dr. Mahesh is a Chemical Engineer from Siddaganga Institute of Technology with a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Griffith University and MBA from Harvard Business School. He was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate by CIAC at 6th International Education Forum in New Delhi.
Dr. Mahesh is currently serving as Editorial Board Member of Journal of Loss Prevention in the Process Industry, which is one of the leading journals in risk management and process safety.
He has worked on mega-projects and world class hydrocarbon facilities in Upstream, Down-stream and Petrochemical complexes exposed to multiple technologies and process complexities. He has advised on various aspects of loss prevention to Fortune 500 companies like Saudi Aramco, SABIC, ConocoPhillips and Maersk. In addition, he has also worked as Safety Analyst with Government of Western Australia, where he was instrumental in developing regulations and guidance for Safety Report regime for Major Hazard Facilities.
Mahesh has worked in multicultural teams and has good appreciation of working in countries like Australia, US, UK, Canada, Papua New Guinea, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan and Russia. He is Fellow Member of Energy Institute (UK), Fellow of Institute of Directors India, Fellow of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers and Senior Member of American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He is currently heading Risk Management Centre of Excellence in India and is instrumental in mentoring young enthusiasts and professionals in the areas of loss prevention.
He has also actively presented in numerous technical papers in forums like Mary Kay O’ Conner Process Safety Centre and Centre for Chemical Process Safety.
