- Drafting documentation accordingly client requirements, iso 45001 hse standards like HIRA / JSA / MS operational control docs like SOPS, PTWS
- Planning, organizing daily meetings briefing regarding the work before commencement of the work activity
- Conducting daily minutes of meetings morning session, Briefing on Corrective & Preventive actions to be adhered of the previous day observation walk through @ site recording the unsafe act, recommend the same to the workers
- Plan & deployment of the safety work force @ different location of the site according to the need & requirement
- Before any specific work activity Check, recommend the daily documented docs wrt WORK PERMITS get legal approval from the client safety HODS according to the BOCW rules & reporting the same & document the data
- Daily Surveillance inspection and observations, recording data unsafe conditions of the equipment, tools and prior to the commencement of the specific job activity at plan site and documentation the same in prescribed format / JSW
- Monitoring all work permit systems (PTW), inspect work in progress and work permits, to ensure proper filling up and closing of permits as per the SOPs adhered and documentation and reporting to the JSW Concerned department HOD and the similar to the Safety in-charge @ plant site
- Inspecting regularly all safety tools & equipment for its satisfactory operational condition and stability in compliance standards
- Ensuring and maintaining qualitative auditing approach system for their construction machineries such as heavy equipment- cranes, trailers, JCB, excavator, loader, forklift, etc. documentation the same
- Procurement & arranging all PPES as per ISO - compliance standards, specifications required for specific job activity
- Conducting Safety Tool Box Talk, Training and educating contractual employees regarding hazards and implement Safety SOPs for Maintenances jobs like working at confined space, working at height
- Conducting and recording BBS (UN SAFE - ACTS) observations on regular intervals with recommending remediate measures and documentation the same
- Observance, imparting training, awareness & the significance @ job site, of National Road Safety week, from 11th Jan to 17 th Jan every year @ Factory premises
- Pro-actively participating the NATIONAL SAFETY WEEK March (4th to 10th) and FIRE SERVICE / SAFETY WEEK April (14th to 20th) annually. Sharing and educating our contractual employees the significance of the Theme
- Ensuring minimization of hazardous wastes production, designing its effective management to protect onsite
- Investigating all incidents and near miss incidents, recording the same and documentation accident report accordingly to the statutory requirement and get approval signature from the concerned Head of the JSW, Section n-Charge, Department of Safety @ plant site
- Conducting daily site Conditions, defining and recording the Unsafe Conditions and Unsafe Acts, by capturing photographs, documentation the same, suggesting its remedial measures to the contractual employees for its consequences. Analysis of HIRA & JSA for different job activity @ job site, documentation & developing mitigation measures
- Incident Investigation (Optional, if), CAPA Reporting and documenting
- Documentation of the statutory records accordingly to the Company's JSW policies and rules propounded therein, if required
- Conducting Safety Awareness Training Program on hazardous circumstances posing threat to the humans and impact on environment, to the contractual employees
- Educating and Training contractual employees, regarding the vital significance of Fire Evacuation Mock drill @ different locations, like working at height, near gas chambers, chemical handling. Emergencies for on-site and off-site scenarios including emergency during CO carbon monoxide gas leakage and fire at conveyor system, its remedial procedures to adhere for its prevention. In addition, follow protocols during critical situations
- Identifying the hazardous location and conducting Risk analysis with mitigating factors, HIRA & HAZAN for specific job activity, non-routine works i.e. maintenance jobs and reporting to JSW Section in-Charge, monitoring and certifying, documentation of the same
- Conducting monthly overall safety Audits & monitoring the same, reporting, documentation the same at plant site, reporting to the JSW Section in-Charge – Safety
- Implementation EMS for economic use of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes according to pollution control board laid by government, JSW OSH policies
- Educating contractual employees regarding importance of First Aid and its remedial measures, usage of FIRST AID FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENTS, Fire cylinders, fire hydrants and PPES to be used for Specific works ie hot work, confined space works, working at height
- Training and educating on various safety tools and equipment has used at plant site and documentation the same, on monthly intervals Checking & Maintenance of Fire Protection system (Extinguishers, Hydrants, and Sprinkles) and detection Systems
- Analysis of CAPA guidelines, validating weekly / monthly reports on trend indicators and statistics and reporting to the Section in-Charge and to SAFETY OFFICER in charge at plant Site
- Assisting and treating the injured contractual employee, providing basic FIRST AID and consulting to the plant medical unit for minor injuries and there on to the sanjeevini hospital for major injury treatment
- Documentation details of Pre & Post, Periodical i.e. HALF & YEARLY Medical Examinations of each contractual employee. Submitting details to the Plant section In-charge for verifications and get approval from the concerned safety department and MEDICAL OFFICER of JSW
- Documentation data physically of each contractual employee the INDUCTION TRAINING PROGRAMME conducted & organized by the JSW safety department at convention HALL at OP JINDAL CENTRE, TORANAGALLU VILLAGE
- Monitoring the compliance of the provisions of Factories Act with respect to safety aspect like, Competent certificate for (Lifting Equipment, Lifting tool, Conveyor and Welding equipment's both (ARC & GAS), Structural stability certificate, Medical Examination of employees
