SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROJECT Project Title: Preparation and Characterization of Hydrochlorothiazide–p-Aminobenzoic Acid (PABA) Cocrystal by Different Methods

• Conducted a research project on the preparation and characterization of pharmaceutical cocrystals using Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) as the model drug and p-Aminobenzoic Acid (PABA) as the coformer.
• Studied different cocrystal preparation methods and their influence on cocrystal formation.
• Performed/learned solvent evaporation, reaction crystallization, and other relevant crystallization techniques.
• Studied the drug–coformer interaction and crystal formation based on pharmaceutical cocrystal principles.
• Characterized the prepared cocrystals using suitable analytical techniques such as PXRD, DSC, FTIR, and/or other available characterization methods.
• Evaluated the obtained results to understand changes in the solid-state properties of the drug.
• Gained practical knowledge of pharmaceutical research, crystal engineering, laboratory techniques, and scientific data interpretation.
