About

Hardware Design Engineer with hands-on experience designing analog/digital circuits and embedded control systems for medical devices, including Portable Oxygen Concentrators, CPAP systems, and Ventilators. Core strengths in BLDC motor driver design, PowerPath switching and battery-charging circuits, microcontroller board design (Renesas, DsPIC), and communication interfaces (UART, I2C, SPI), backed by schematic capture and PCB layout experience in Zuken CadStar. Complements circuit design work with requirements-based verification, test case development, and traceability (RTM), and regulatory documentation aligned to ISO 13485, MDR 2017, IEC 60601, and ISO 80601 standards.

Comfortable working across hardware, firmware, and quality teams from design through verification.

Experience

Design & Development Engineer - IMEDS Global Pvt Limited - India

(2025-08)

  • Designed schematic BLDC motor driver circuits (ATA6847 IC, DsPIC controller) and PowerPath switching / battery-charging circuits (BQ25750 IC) for a 1 LPM Portable Oxygen Concentrator with Continuous and Pulse Dose modes.
  • Developed the complete battery pack setup for portable oxygen concentrators, including verification testing to confirm compliance with defined electrical and safety requirements.
  • Defined and verified system-level requirements for device performance during development of the 1 LPM concentrator.
  • Developed pulse-dose oxygen delivery control logic and algorithms; integrated pressure and differential-pressure sensors for breath detection.
  • Implemented and verified UART, I2C, and SPI communication protocols to support device-to-controller data exchange across Renesas and DsPIC platforms.
  • Performed board-level and system/interface-level verification testing, troubleshooting, and defect resolution during integration activities.
  • Generated verification documentation and evidence (test plans, test reports) in support of design control, working within ISO 13485, MDR 2017, and IEC 60601 frameworks; assisted with ISO 80601-2-67 compliance and licensing documentation.
  • Supported QMS and manufacturing audits, and coordinated material selection and supplier activities for medical device development.

Intern – Design & Development Engineer - IMEDS Global Pvt Limited - India

(2025-01 - 2025-07)

  • Contributed to CPAP, Ventilator, and Oxygen Concentrator projects, gaining hands-on exposure to verification and testing, medical device development practices.
  • Assisted in requirements review and test support activities as part of continuous learning across cross-functional engineering teams.

Intern – Biomedical Engineer - Guntur Government Hospital - Guntur, India

(2023-05 - 2023-06)

  • Managed and updated medical device/equipment databases using MySQL, improving the accuracy and efficiency of biomedical engineering operations.
