I’m Rofia Ramesh, currently a collaborative PhD scholar at the Dept. of Management Studies, IIT Madras, India and Curtin University, Australia. I have submitted my thesis in April (2022), and am awaiting the examiners’ reviews and the final defence.
I have been drawn to teaching and research from a young age, and towards this have always sought to engage in activities that further these twin interests. I studied Psychology for my Undergraduate program and Applied Psychology (specializing in Organizational Behaviour and Workplace Counselling) for my Postgraduate program. When I started my PhD in 2016, positive organizational behaviour was making a significant difference in the lives of employees.
Integrating my academic background of psychology with the current needs of OB/HR managers, I formulated my thesis topic to study the influence of mindfulness on technostress among IT professionals. I strongly believe that research and teaching must be informed by industry developments of the time. Towards this, I had developed and facilitated a mindfulness program called P.A.U.S.E, for executives, university teachers, and students.
Through the lessons learnt during my education, I also believe that ‘structure is a strong determinant of behaviour’ and ‘the whole is greater than the sum of its parts’. Therefore, I try to create a clear sense of purpose, objective goals, and a tangible road map to achieve them in my individual assignments, and highly value collaboration, team work and collective effort when working as a group. I am also a deeply committed person and motivated to pursue excellence in all spheres, both personal and professional.
If considered, I believe I will be able to meaningfully contribute to the School of Management and the University, and execute my teaching and research responsibilities well. I’m attaching my CV for your kind perusal and hope you will find me a suitable candidate for the position advertised.
