Sanjay Kumar

Graduated from Ranchi University and subsequently master in English from Patna as well as M.A, M. Phil in Geography from Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. I Completed 3 years MBA Programme from IMT CDL Ghaziabad. I have written many papers on social issues and all published in various journals.

Presently working as Executive Director-Cum-Secretary at Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. In past worked as Senior Grade Regional Director (North) at “Council for Leather Exports (CLE)”, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India for almost 7 years. I have shouldered multiple senior roles in the past.

In 2008 -2011, was employed as Regional Head (North) at SRTEPC, Ministry of Textiles for promoting the exports of Man-Made Textiles from India. Previously worked with prestigious organization like Ford Foundation & CSD (Council for Social Development) in Delhi. My professional experience has helped me in gaining experience of markets of over 20 countries globally.

This work was more inclined towards drive in India’s participation in major international shows and thus included interaction with Indian SME’s, international buyers etc.

Played an instrumental role in development of Clusters & infrastructural facilities. Established Common Facility Centres, Design studios, Multi Skill Development Centre and Testing Laboratories across India, to support smaller exporters and for boosting exports. I was also instrumental to develop various Clusters across the Country.

My executive experience includes significant portfolio. I am a Member-Secretary in Board of CEPC, Director in Handicraft Carpet Sector Skill Council (HCSSC), UP Export Promotion Bureau, Steering Committee for Bhadohi Carpet Expo Mart (BCEM), Indian Institute of Carpet Technology (IICT), NCDPD JKTPO & HMCM. Also a Member of Committee on Textiles of Bureau of Standard (BIS) & Wool Development Board have helped in understanding various facets of industry, Governing Body of IGIPESS, University of Delhi appointed by university, Advisory Board of Amity International Business School, NOIDA.

From my student life I was quite active in social life & also served as a Secretary of Social organization “Awareness India Mission” (AIM) and founder member of a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Society for Awareness and Rehabilitation of Child Labour & Physical Handicapped (SEARCH).
