I'm a transdisciplinary mixed-media artist working at the confluence of digital film, design and writing.
I've made (i.e., written, directed and edited) 4-5 small-budget independent films, one of them being a 72-minute peer-funded feature with private club screenings in 6 cities across India.
When I came to Mumbai in 2013, I wanted to be a writer. But soon, I discovered that writing screenplays don't pay until the film gets made. Eventually, I ended up as a video editor, and have edited over 400+ fashion videos, cinematic wedding films, digital videos, corporate AVs etc., along with directing a few digital videos for brands like Jio, Reliance Digital, AJIO, McDowell's No.1 Whiskey, Johnnie Walker Scotch, Black & White Scotch, Sofit plant-based milk, Milkbasket hyperlocal app etc.
In 2018, I joined 3 companies under the same leadership as the Creative Head and started sharpening my skills in design, illustration, social media & print creatives, copywriting and UI/UX too. I led teams of 10-12 people at any given time and successfully managed the execution of 360° marketing campaigns. During peak seasons, I have supervised groups of 50+ people across remote & hybrid, in-house and freelance collaborators.
My colleagues and clients have also appreciated me for making brilliant presentations and pitch decks, so I realise that my strengths lie somewhere between creative/artistic skills and marketing/strategy/brand solutions knowledge. Hence, I am looking for a role where the first 7 years of my career marries the last 5 years of mine.
I believe that I can bring to the table a wide range of skills & expertise that make me a good fit, not just for this role, but across others as well, whenever required in a cross functional team.
While I come from a background of design, film and video production, with a knack for writing and post production related skills like editing, sound deisgn, motion graphics etc., the last 5 years of my life has been a lot of unlearning and learning new things as the Creative Head of 3 companies: a brands solutions agency, a production house and a hyperlocal startup. I’ve found myself working on digital marketing, influencer marketing, meme marketing, campaign conceptualisation, pitch decks, mobile user acquistion, vendor relations, client servicing and even a bit of business development!
Hence, I believe that I'd be more than capable to fill in, not just this position for now; but also in the long term, I will be able to take on higher leadership roles.
All the relevant skills are learnt on the job.
