I am recent a pharmaceutical chemistry and technology graduate. I accomplished my degree cum laude at the University of Salerno in Italy, with a dissertation in research pharmacology, preceded by a year of internship in a lung tumor pharmacology laboratory. I am currently living in Belgium for an Erasmus traineeship program, which is giving me the chance to learn how life outside my country is, as well as allowing me to gain some more experience in the research field (traineeship in a tumor biology laboratory at Liège University, studying the resistance to cisplatin in mesothelioma).
I have always been fascinated by the pharmaceutical world, how drugs work and how they can impact on an individual's life, and even though my work/study experience is mainly related to the biological/pharmacological research, I would like to discover other sides of the pharmaceutical field (clinical, Q&A), in order to apply my current knowledge as a recent graduate and keep learning new things.
One year in a lung tumor pharmacology laboratory during my research thesis internship at the University of Salerno, and six months in a tumor biology laboratory for the Erasmus traineeship program. Through these experiences, I have learnt the main biological techniques used in the laboratory practice, such as ELISA, Western Blot, PCR, managment of cell lines and human samples, immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence, studying/reasearching the scientific literature, use of some computer program (Excel, Prism, PowerPoint, Word).
Six months of pharmacy internship, during which I learnt the management of medical prescriptions, assisted the patients in the purchase/use of medicines (selling at the counter), engaged in warehouse work
High school diploma in classical studies (100/100)
Master's degree in pharmaceutical chemistry and technology (110/110L)
My degree gave me the chance to study drugs in all their aspects, from their chemistry, to their pharmacological uses, to their formulation and dispensation to the patients. My one year research thesis experience gave me a more accurate display of how research is conducted and gave me the chance to learn the main biology laboratory techniques
