Judicial Attachment - Limuru Law Courts - Limuru, Kenya

During this time of Judicial Attachment I got to attend Physical court both criminal and civil matters. I also learnt proper case management from filing of pleadings to hearing of the suits. I also learnt of the importance and the art of Legal Research as Judgments and rulings are mostly based on stare decisis.

I first joined the organization after successfully applying for pupilage which is one of the mandatory requirements of the Advocates Training Program in Kenya. I was lucky enough to have a very involving Pupil Teacher who was my last employer. I got the opportunity to learn needed legal skills.

Being fresh from law school I was tasked with initial duties, and after successfully completing my pupilage period I was offered a chance to be retained as a full time employee. I continued performing similar tasks but was given extra responsibilities in training and orientation.

• Attention to details while conducting client interviews so as to correctly identify and deduce how their issue can be solved as per the law
• The art of effective case research as I got to draft a lot of submissions which MUST be supported by correct legal reasoning and within the law
• The art of customer satisfaction which is paramount in every business entity
• The importance of team work and meeting deadlines timely as required

• Attending court sessions in the presence of pupil master to learn court etiquette
