Sylvia Nzioka

I am a graduate of Kenyatta University with a second-class honors upper division. In the same institution, I took a leadership course. I have a TSC number therefore fully certified to be a teacher. I am a highly motivated and a self-driven person.

I am a good team player when working together with members of staff and is a problem solver. I also take responsibility in roles assigned to me and always goes the extra mile to ensure that my student’s improvement goes up. Am also motivated by the all-round growth of my students in their discipline, self-confidence and self-discovery.

I am a fast learner on some of the school programs, which I might not be well known to. I possess good listening and writing skills for both in class and out of class learning activities.

Having an experience in dealing with all students who are abled differently, I ensure that each student is attended to differently to the achievement of their full potential. For instance introducing different programs for differently abled students. I always ensure that the teaching methods incorporated in my lessons are learner centered and with an enquiry based mode of learning and use of ICT as a learning tool.

I have worked at Midas International Boys High School (2021 October - June 2022) where I had the following responsibilities in addition to being a classroom teacher/facilitator in both the modern pedagogy and IGCSE curicula.

1.Form 2 class teacher

• Debate club coordinator.
• Archery club coordinator
• Deputize the swimming club coordinator.
• Creator and director of termly creative research projects.
• Designer and presenter during the weekly Pedagogical seminars for the facilitators.
• Member of the skills and thrills commettee.

Worked at oloile secondary school (2020 October to September 2021) where I had the following responsibilities in addition to being a classroom teacher.

1. Head of the languages department.
2. Head of guidance and counseling department. 
3. Boarding mistress. 
4. Head of school welfare. 
5. A member of the covid 19 response team.
