Laura Yoo

My teaching journey began in 2007 when I started teaching in kindergartens as a substitute teacher in Scotland. The experiences I had during this time allowed me to work with a large number of educators, all with different experiences, backgrounds, and teaching philosophies which helped me create my own philosophies towards education.

In March 2009, I began teaching ESL to students aged 3-16 in China. During my six and a half years in China, my perspectives on teaching were once again altered as I had to take into consideration new methods of teaching along with adapting to an entirely new culture.

After gaining my BA(Hons) in Childhood Studies in 2018, I began teaching ESL to kindergarten and elementary students in Korea. I had the opportunity to plan and implement immersive English learning experiences for all my students, along with fulfilling my duties as the school's head teacher. I was able to push myself to improve my skills, which included undertaking leadership courses in my free time, and at my own expense, to ensure I was being the best version of myself.
