Play-worker - FES Zejtun - Zejtun, Malta
(2025-07 - 2025-09)
During the summer of 2025, I worked as a Play-worker with a group of Kinder 1 children aged 3-4 years. I was responsible for assisting in the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities, ensuring a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for the children. I worked closely with another Playworker, and together we shared responsibilities by alternating weekly activity planning.
This collaboration allowed us to maintain a balanced and creative schedule for the children. While working with 3-4-year-olds could be challenging at times, I quickly grew attached to the group and truly loved them with all my heart. Building bonds with them made the experience incredibly fulfilling and meaningful.
This role helped me develop key skills such as patience, adaptability, and teamwork, and strengthened my confidence in managing young children in a childcare setting.
Play-worker - FES Zejtun - Zejtun, Malta
(2024-07 - 2024-09)
In the summer of 2024, I worked as a Play-worker with Year 3 children aged 7-8 years. My responsibilities included helping to plan and lead daily activities, ensuring a fun, safe, and structured environment for the children. I worked alongside another Playworker, which allowed us to share tasks and manage the group more effectively.
Together, we divided the activity planning and typically organised around three activities per day, including games, crafts, and group exercises. Collaborating with another team member made the experience more manageable and enjoyable, as working with young children requires constant attention and energy. Over the course of the placement, I built meaningful connections with the children and genuinely grew to care for them deeply.
Their energy, personalities, and daily progress made the job not only rewarding but also heartwarming. This experience strengthened my ability to communicate with children, stay organised, and work efficiently within a team.

I was responsible for creating weekly activity sheets, planning 2-3 age-appropriate activities per day depending on the group I was assigned to. This experience helped me develop adaptability, creativity, and confidence in working with children of all ages.
