Laura Ramon

I am a Colombian lawyer with a Cum Laude Law Degree and an LL.M. in European and Global Law from Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona, with a strong professional background in civil and public law developed in Colombia through both private practice and the judicial sector. My early experience focused on constitutional mechanisms, contractual matters, liability claims against the State, and legal advisory, which allowed me to build solid foundations in legal analysis, drafting, and case management. More recently, I expanded my professional experience in Malta, working across migration, employment, regulatory, and data protection matters.

This international exposure strengthened my ability to handle complex legal procedures, advise on sensitive cases, and work closely with both clients and public authorities in matters where legal compliance and the human dimension of the law closely intersect. Throughout my academic and professional career, I have developed strong skills in legal drafting, case analysis, policy interpretation, and strategic problem-solving, alongside a strong passion for legal research and academic writing. My work has allowed me to understand law not only as a regulatory framework, but also as a tool to protect dignity, equality, and access to fair opportunities for individuals.

While I have developed a particular interest in areas such as migration, employment law, and human rights, I remain open to exploring other legal fields that share the same human dimension and contribute to the protection of individuals and fair legal processes. • Managed immigration-related matters, including residence permits, such as work single permit, change of employer, family reunification requests or family member application, still abroad applications, and regularisation procedures, ensuring compliance with statutory and procedural requirements.
