He recently participated in the Norwegian-funded Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) and Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) programs in Kaduna State, where he provided leadership in management and coordination of MNH and SRH activities in Kubau and Kauru LGAs that were assigned to him. He has more than 8 years of experience in program management, monitoring and evaluation, strategic planning, advocacy, and quality improvement. Prior to joining CHAI, he worked as a consultant in Kaduna State for the Partnership for Transforming Health System (PATHS2), which was funded by UK Aid through the Department for International Development.
He was in charge of enhancing the availability and calibre of MNCH services as well as the state's PHC services.
As a consultant on Rapid Awareness Rising (RAR) for PATHS2, he conducted over 21 focus group talks and effectively created a community level participation plan.
He worked at CHAI to advance sexual and reproductive health (SRH), including M&E, the Emergency Transport Scheme (ETS), Post-partum Family Planning (PPFP), as well as maternal and neonatal health (MNH). He was a member of the group that reduced maternal and neonatal mortality by 40% throughout the three states (Kano, Kaduna and Katsina) achieving the goals that had been set.
In the state he served in, Abdullahi developed positive working relationships with the state's officials, residents, traditional and religious leaders.
· Provide administrative and technical direction for all the state's intervention programs.
· Offer assistance with creating work schedules, budgets, monthly reports, and internal project work plans.
· Establishing connections with state and LGAs departments of health for cooperation, advocacy, full implementation, and institutionalization of MNCH and SRH programs for sustainability.
· Under the guidance of the State Team Lead, I was given the duty of assisting and supervising the deployment of RMNCH programs for healthcare professionals working in the public sector as well as offering any necessary logistical support.
· Assistance and oversee the execution of monitoring and evaluation activities intended to assess program impact by providing necessary logistical support, regular quality and progress reporting, and monitoring the activities' execution.
· Support and oversee the implementation of community-based initiatives aimed at community resource people, and when necessary, offer logistical assistance.
