• Involved in remover of bearing rings and repair of bearing and proper cleaning and proper preservation/protection before coupling.
• Involved in loosing of bolt, using bolt heater/ elements to heat the bolt in other to lose the steam turbine bolt as the procedure required
• Involved in changing the shims on the right and left side of bearing rings downside using micrometer to determine the thickness of the shims.
• Involved in alignment of the rotor and the coupling.
• Involved in the tightening of coupling bolt using outer micrometer to check the length before and after.
• Involved in the labeling of loosed steam turbine materials, such as Bolt.
• Involved in motor alignments and the bearing shaft alignment.

MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN at AFAM VI (2017)

• Use of ITH special tool (high pressure hydraulic device) for bolting and unbolting.
• Proper use of hydraulic tensioner for the bolting and unbolting of turbine stud bolts and general mechanical works.
• Open GT casing manhole to check TVC/zone2 inner and outer shells for crack, borescope checks of rotor blades for cracks or damages.
• Open Exhaust duct manhole to check clearance between the rotor blades and GT casing, put on jacking oil pump to turn the rotor clock and anti-clockwise.
• Carry out GT performance test after every inspection.
• Dismantling and installation of GT exhaust/exhaust diffuser radial flanges.
• Loosening and tightening of turbine vane carrier, bone segments holders.
• Installs component and tightens to the required torques with torque wrench.
• Install and check all fuel distribution pipes for tightness.
