David Isaac Abwaminaje is the Executive Director of Community Awareness and Environmental Health Response Initiative (CAEHRI), an NGO committed to tackling environmental health challenges and it's associated communicable diseases, based in Abuja Nigeria. Prior to being the ED of CAEHRI, I joined relevant stakeholders at NEEM Foundation to design a policy framework that addresses the issues of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in 2017; an organization based in Nigeria.
In the last 9 years of my professional career, I have been active in various capacities with a focus on youth inclusion in governance, poverty alleviation, waste management and climate change issues in Nigeria. Some of the organizations I've worked and collaborated with include; Break The Cycle Project organized by Disability Right Advocacy Center, U.Kaid; NEEM Foundation Nigeria; Institute of Disaster Management and Safety Science, Nigeria; Adhoc INEC - Nigeria; Tranquil Youth Organization of Nigeria, TYON; Bwari Youth Network, BYN; Anchor Psychological Services, Nigeria; and also volunteered as Malaria Youth Army Champion with Africa Leaders Malaria Alliance, ALMA.
A certified Disaster Risk Specialist with proven track records on Safety Analysis and the Assessment of Disaster and Risk levels of factor associated with the environment and organizational activities. In the course of working to develop local communities, I superintended a training on Integrated Solid Waste Management: Consolidating “the need for 3Rs in waste management” to reduce the impact of climate change at community level, CAEHRI – IDMSS in Nigeria last year, March 2021.
David Isaac Abwaminaje is a young Nigerian Scientist, Senior member- Institute of Disaster Management & Safety Science, Nigeria (SDMSS), and Certified Safety/Disaster Risk Manager, with proven track records on Safety Analysis and the Assessment of Disaster and Risk levels of factor associated with the environment and organizational activities in four (5) years experience.
Upon the attainment of first degree in General Microbiology from Federal University of Technology, Minna in 2011. I went on to acquire a professional certificate on Language Communication skills and Information Communication Technology, (ICT) with the Nigerian Teachers Institute (NTI) in 2013. Rose to the ranks of a Senior member- Institute of Disaster Management & Safety Science, Nigeria in 2018.
Moving forward aquired Master’s Degree in Disaster Risk Management 2017. Furtherance for knowledge and personal development, went on to acquiring professional certificates in the following areas:
In 2017, I joined relevant professionals in a consultative meeting for NEEM Foundation, to Designing a Policy Framework on Mental Health & Psychosocial Support in Nigeria. Sequel to that achievement, was conferred with the role of Executive Director/Board member, with the Community Awareness & Environmental Health Response Initiative (CAEHRI); a position i still hold till date.
In March 2021, superintended over the Seminar/Training on Integrated Solid Waste Management: Consolidating “the need for 3Rs in waste management” to reduce the impact of Climate Change at Community level, CAEHRI – IDMSS in Nigeria.
Currently, a Facilitator with the International Academy of Disaster & Safety Professionals, and recently been selected as a delegate for Young African Leaders Summit by the Youth Global Network on 25th - 27th November, 2021 in Accra, Ghana.
