I am an Industrial and Production Engineer with hands-on experience in factory operations, production processes, and packaging line activities. During my NYSC at Apple and Pears limited, I gained practical exposure to factory operations and packaging, which strengthened my skills in process optimization, machine supervision, and problem-solving. I am passionate about working with machines and improving manufacturing efficiency.

My career goal is to grow into a Reliability or Automation Engineer, and eventually lead production operations in a high-tech, innovative manufacturing environment.

Intern - Apple and Pears Limited

(2025-02)

During my NYSC at Apple and Pears Limited, I worked in the Utility Engineering department where I supported operations around compressors and pumps, ensuring stable utility supply for the plant. Later, I moved to the Food-Division Mechanical Engineering / Maintenance Department, where I worked directly on machines used in the production of condiments and food products.

• Vacuum homogenizers / emulsifying mixers: for making mayonnaise, custard, and creams (used to create smooth emulsions)
• High-shear mixers / dispersers: to mix and blend ingredients at different viscosities
• Filling machines: for bottling or packaging mayonnaise, ketchup, and other sauces
• Heat exchangers / heaters / coolers: used in processing to pasteurize or stabilize ingredients at the right temperature
• In the vegetable oil production line: expeller presses (screw presses) for oil extraction
• Decanter centrifuge: for clarifying and separating phases in oil refining
• Vacuum pumps: to maintain vacuum in emulsification tanks or homogenizer systems
• Monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining these machines; ensuring they ran efficiently
• Coordinating with the engineering team for preventive maintenance
• Reporting any operational issues

Intern - Nigerian Breweries

During my Industrial Training at Nigerian Breweries, I worked in the Packaging Department, where I gained hands-on experience with high-speed production and packaging machinery.

• Operating and Monitoring Packaging Machines: Automatic bottle/can fillers: ensuring accurate volume for beverages
• Capping machines: sealing bottles and cans efficiently
• Labeling machines: applying labels correctly and monitoring quality
• Conveyor systems: moving products through the production line smoothly
• Pasteurizers and bottle sterilizers: ensuring product safety and quality
• Assisted in routine maintenance and minor repairs on packaging lines
• Identified bottlenecks and reported issues to supervisors for quick resolution
• Learnt preventive maintenance practices to minimize downtime
• Ensured production lines ran at optimal efficiency
• Supported quality inspections to meet company standards
