Squarehead is looking for a developer to help us advance our world-leading acoustic systems, used for applications such as monitoring autonomous vessels.
Our technology currently protects both civilian and military installations in Norway and allied nations around the world. We’re a small team in the software department who solve interesting problems around our industrial products, primarily in the maritime sector. Now we're looking for a new teammate to join us!
The code that runs on the array is written in modern C++, where performance, clean code, safety, and collaboration really matter. The main responsibility of the code is to continuously sample the microphones, run the necessary DSP and machine learning algorithms, and turn this into detection information. This is then made available via network APIs to our frontend applications, together with audio and video streams.
To make all of this happen, we use tools like C++23, Rust, TypeScript, Tauri, React JS, clang-tidy, IDEs of your choice, git and GitLab. And the best tool of all; talking to each other and getting stuff done.
The role is based in Oslo, Norway, more specifically in Nydalen, but working from home every now and then is not a problem. Developer experience, as well as good written and oral communication skills in English, are required. Any knowledge in TypeScript, Rust, C++, grpc and realtime systems is a bonus.
If this sounds fun to you, and you have experience in some of what we have listed, send us an application describing how you can contribute. A bachelor’s degree or other relevant experience is an advantage when applying.
In addition to the points mentioned above, we have:
We review applications and invite candidates for interviews on an ongoing basis, so if you are interested in the position, we recommend that you apply quickly.
