Haniya Asad

Interdisciplinary artist exploring visual storytelling through design and illustration and experimenting to achieve more immersivity for the viewer. I hold expertise across various tools, both digital and traditional, and can comfortably decide and switch between art styles in accordance with the narrative provided. I have created multiple original characters, mascots, children’s stories and fantasy worlds, and am looking forward to similar opportunities in character design and world-building.

Creative Designer at PlayWrite (2025-07 – 2025-11)

• Planned and executed an end-to-end design project creating 80+ sets of early education worksheets.
• Collaborated with the curriculum designer to ensure content clarity and an appropriate progression of difficulty across learning materials.

Children’s Storybook Author & Artist at Chhoti Sofia (Academic Project) (2024-04 – 2024-06)

• Designed and illustrated a choose-your-own-story style book (soon to be series) in Urdu, for 6 to 8-year old children to explore emotions and accountability.
• Developed storyboards identifying problem situations and resolutions, and a whole cast of characters to allow readers to better understand the protagonist.

Narrative Developer & Illustrator at Jamnagar (Academic Project) (2024-02 – 2024-06)

• Crafted a steampunk-style high fantasy world inspired by Sindhi folklore, culture and history.
• Developed a top-down, text-based narrative aided by a compendium of visual illustrations of characters and creatures.
