My research focuses on the valorization of agro-food waste for the development of functional food products and sustainable food packaging materials aimed at enhancing food quality, extending shelf life, and promoting environmentally responsible practices. I have authored nine peer-reviewed research articles, five book chapters, and several conference abstracts, reflecting my commitment to scientific research and academic excellence. I am enthusiastic about contributing to teaching, research, student mentorship, and collaborative academic activities while advancing innovative and sustainable solutions for the food industry.
During my MS and PhD, I was involved in various projects mainly focusing on developing and characterizing biopolymer based edible packaging, and investigating their impact on the shelf life and nutritional improvements of food products. This experience has equipped me with expertise in designing and executing experiments, analyzing data, and interpreting results.
I worked as a Food and Health Trainee at Combined Military Hospital, Rawalpindi (21-012019 to 1-04-2019), assisting in nutrition program planning, conducting nutritional assessments, and collaborating with healthcare professionals on nutrition-related interventions, gaining valuable insights into food science and nutrition principles in a healthcare setting.
