Dr.
Amir is a highly experienced and qualified consultant in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. She is the current Chair of the Department of Infectious Diseases at the SMBBIT and also serves as the CO-Chair of the Infection Control Committee and Chair of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program. In addition, she is a supervisor at CPSP and an active member of the Medical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases Society of Pakistan (MMIDSP).
Dr. Amir has had a distinguished career in healthcare, having been part of the National TB program and establishing infectious diseases and infection control departments in a private hospital in Karachi. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she established COVID inpatient as well as outpatient services at one of the leading tertiary care hospitals in Karachi.
Dr. Amir's interests lie in antimicrobial stewardship programs and musculoskeletal infection. She has several publications in peer-reviewed journals and has completed several certification courses, including certification in Health Professional Education, certification in research, and is currently enrolled in a Diploma in Biomedical Ethics from CBEC SIUT.
