I am working as an Associate Professor in the subject of Entomology at University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Depalpur (Okara) campus. I got my Ph.D. in entomology from Washington State University, Pullman, USA. I have a rich experience in a number of fields and evolving technologies of Entomology, especially insect plant interactions; developmental biology; Insect probing and disease transmission biology using an innovative electrical penetration graph technology (EPG) technology to examine in what plant tissues the insects feed/Probe, and how they acquire and inoculate pathogens to plants, novel approach of targeting the endosymbionts in insects populations, making them reproductive incompatible; the use of molecular methods such as PCR to identify insect genetic types and to confirm disease infection in insects and many more aspects of insects.
My PhD research efforts led to several scientific advances that have helped in understanding potato psyllid and its role in spread of zebra chip disease. I have a strong research interest in insect-plant ecological interactions; probing biology of insect vectors with reference to disease transmission, IPM, Biological control and mitigating insects' endosymbionts for novel pest management strategies using molecular techniques.
