Carlos Colón

Carlos R. Colón is recent pharmacy graduate from Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy. Prior to entering (NSU-COP), he obtained a Master of Science degree in Biotechnology from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico (2016) and his Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of Bridgeport (2013).

Carlos is currently an active member of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) and the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA). His professional experiences have taught him about the breadth of medicine and health care. Before entering pharmacy school, he was a biologist in The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Dengue Brach) San Juan, Puerto Rico.

He accessed the effects of the Zika virus on the island and educated people in the community regarding Zika prevention.

Teaching and research played a large role in his personal and professional development. Carlos worked as a high school chemistry and biology teacher. Carlos has served underserved and underrepresented populations in accessing proper medical care and resources.

He served in mission projects that visited orphanages in Haiti and was an active member of the American Red Cross in Puerto Rico chapter. In his free time he enjoys music, outdoor activities and quality time with family and friends. As a pharmacist, Carlos wants to spend his life interacting with patients and other health care professionals to improve the health of those who are underserved.
