I did not start my journey wanting to predict markets - I started by trying to understand why they move.
During my undergraduate years at NMIMS, I was fascinated by how data could reveal market behaviour long before narratives caught up. I built my first financial model with more curiosity than confidence, and slowly realised that numbers tell stories if you learn to listen.
But curiosity alone was not enough. Early on, I experienced the gap between theory and market reality, where valuations met volatility and models met uncertainty. That is when I realised that understanding finance meant understanding structure and data together, and I began working with tools like Python and analytics to bring more structure to complexity.
Over time, my interest shifted from just analysing markets to understanding how capital is structured and distributed across them. Each experience, from academic projects to live exposure in financial environments, reinforced that finance is not just about prediction, but about interpretation under uncertainty.
Now, as an MSc Finance student at the National University of Singapore and an intern at UTI International, I work closely with product and institutional sales teams. My exposure spans offshore fund distribution across UCITS structures and GIFT City (IFSCA) domiciled funds, along with investor communication, macro research, fund flow analysis, and product positioning across markets. This has given me a more grounded view of how investment products actually move through institutional channels and across jurisdictions.
The journey is now less about building models in isolation and more about understanding how markets, structures, and client behaviour come together in real time.
The challenges along the way taught me resilience; the learning taught me perspective. The happy ending, at least for now, is knowing that I’ve found where data meets decision-making - and that’s where I want to keep building.
