Anxing Gu

I believe in the value of the Southeast Asia Region and ASEAN as a platform to facilitate economic development for Singapore and our businesses. As a trade officer, I contribute to Singapore’s international strategies in ASEAN and to ensuring Singapore retains our attractiveness as the gateway to the region. I am experienced in both technical negotiations (especially on digital economy issues) and formulating positions on policy issues.

I am keenly interested in collaborative negotiations and creative problem solving. I have trained in mediation in Singapore and the State of Texas.

In the past 3 years, I've represented Singapore at trade negotiations and various international meetings with other ASEAN Member States and Dialogue Partners (especially Korea, US, and RCEP countries) with the aim of strengthening our regional architecture. Domestically, I work closely with various ministries and agencies to drive a Whole-of-Government approach on our international strategies in the region, especially those on digital economy.

I graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB w' Honours), and spent a year with the University of Texas at Austin Law School on exchange.
