INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER - AL MAJAL SCORE - IRAQ
(2024-12)
Field Instrumentation Work
- Followed safety standards and permit-to-work (PTW) procedures for field maintenance activities.
- Carried out field identification and tagging of instruments based on updated instrument index and P&IDs.
- Conducted site surveys and coordinated instrumentation activities during shutdowns, breakdowns, and emergency maintenance.
- Installation, calibration, loop checking, and functional testing of process instruments including: Transmitters (pressure, flow, level, temperature – HART and FF types), Control valves, on/off valves, solenoid valves, positioners, Emergency Shutdown Valves (ESDVs), MOVs, and interlock systems, Switches, RTDs, Thermocouples.
- Issuing instrument MRNs (Material Requisition Notes) for site-required spares and consumables, ensuring availability of critical items during shutdowns and routine maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with major valve manufacturers including Fisher, Severn, Masoneilan, Baumann, Samson, and Cameron.
- Diagnosed valve issues such as leakage, actuator malfunction, trim damage, seat wear, and gland packing deterioration.
- Conducted lapping, seat replacement, seal and gasket changes, and trim reconditioning as part of overhaul process.
- Carried out functional testing and calibration of valves using hydraulic/pneumatic test benches and diagnostic tools (e.g., Fisher FIELDVUE, ValveLink, Masoneilan SVI II, and portable communicators like HART 475/Emerson AMS).
- Maintained and tested ESDVs integrated with SIS (Safety Instrumented Systems) for critical applications, verifying fail-safe operation, response time, and proper solenoid valve functioning.
- Maintained detailed records of valve history, overhaul reports, test certificates, and ensured traceability as per QA/QC and ISO audit requirements.
