Delfine Yew

Hi! My name is Delfine, and I recently graduated from Hwa Chong Institution. I'm waiting to start University in August and applied for Linguistics as my first choice. I hope to be able to gain real-life experience in the Linguistics field.

I would describe myself as a confident, holistic youth with years of leadership experience and a passion for learning and development. Extroverted, sociable and a strong team player. Eager to leverage education and training in the workforce.

Strong track record of achievements in both academics and in the community. Committed to continuous improvement and driving team success. Strong believer of paying it forward and giving back to society.

I have no real experience in the Linguistics field but I have been reading up Linguistics textbooks for University and have a strong passion to learn.

As I graduated from Junior College with no experience in Linguistics, I decided to research and learn more in my own time. I have read up on “What is sociolinguistics” by Van Herk and “A course in Phonetics” by Peter Ladefoged and Keith Johnson. To this day, I am still reading up and learning more about Linguistics.
