Hailing from a respectable lineage of cooks and hawkers, food has always been a burning passion for me. My culinary expedition began under the tutelage of culinary institutions like Alain Ducasse and Ann Sophie Pic. Whilst my experiences mainly schooled me in the ways of classic European techniques, a deep connection to my Asian roots and rich familial culinary heritage invariably ties me close to home.
Often inspired by stories related to me by parents, uncles and aunts, it has always been a dream of mine to someday revive those culinary experiences of old and to present them with a contemporary touch to my guests.
These dying oral traditions stoke a fire that has inspired me to pursue these conversations more intentionally and to document them so that generations beyond my own may be regaled with tales of our love for food, the shared laughter and tears around the dinner table, and the universal love language of a meal prepared by loving hands.
