Hello! I'm Geck Teng, a graduate in Early Childhood Studies from Birmingham City University (BCU). My academic journey has equipped me with valuable knowledge and skills tailored for the Early Childhood Education industry. Working closely with young children has ignited my passion for creating a safe and nurturing environment where their creativity and curiosity can flourish.
My studies at BCU have deepened my understanding of constructivism and underscored the significance of fostering critical thinking dispositions in children. I am enthusiastic about applying these insights to contribute positively to the educational experiences of young learners.
As a creative, outgoing, and people-oriented individual, I recognize the paramount importance of building strong relationships with both colleagues and parents. I firmly believe that such connections play a pivotal role in enhancing children's learning experiences and contribute significantly to their achievements and overall outcomes.
Throughout my previous experiences and in my current role, I have actively collaborated with both my team and parents to foster holistic learning for children. This involvement includes maintaining open lines of communication with parents, providing them with constructive feedback, and working collaboratively to support and enhance their children's development. I believe that a strong partnership between educators and parents is instrumental in ensuring a child's overall growth and well-being.
Additionally, I have taken the initiative to organize and execute various school events. This involves a range of responsibilities, from handling the logistics such as ordering supplies, to designing tickets, and coordinating the overall flow of the events in collaboration with my team. Notably, in 2023, I successfully orchestrated a significant event – the farewell party for the preschool I am currently associated with.
This event brought together parents, children, and teachers spanning over a decade, requiring the coordination of various elements, including the hiring of vendors to ensure the event's success. These experiences have honed my organizational and teamwork skills while contributing to the positive and vibrant atmosphere within the educational community.
