As a recent PhD graduate in Cancer Biology, I am well-equipped with the scientific knowledge and research experience. During my doctoral studies, I focused on elucidating the mechanisms underlying cancer progression and metastasis. I developed strong analytical skills and expertise in experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation.
Additionally, my research required me to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of scientists, clinicians, and industry professionals, honing my communication and interpersonal skills.
As a cancer biologist with a strong background in biomedical science and medical technology, I am committed to advancing our understanding of cancer and developing new therapies to improve patient outcomes. Throughout my academic career, I have been committed to sharing my knowledge and collaborating with others. I have presented my research, published in peer-reviewed journals, and worked closely with clinicians and other researchers to translate basic science discoveries into clinical applications.
I began my academic journey with a diploma in medical technology in Singapore, where I developed hands-on experience in laboratory testing, quality control, and data analysis. Building on this foundation, I pursued a BSc (Hons) degree in Biomedical Science in Manchester, UK, where I gained a deep understanding of key concepts in biochemistry, cell biology, and immunology.
Inspired to deepen my understanding of cancer biology, I have completed a PhD in the field, where my research focused on characterising the role of YWHAG in cancer development and progression. Through this work, I developed expertise in a range of molecular biology techniques, including RNA sequencing, protein expression analysis, drug screening and animal models of cancer.
