I'm an individual who came with 12 years experience in translation work, translation quality assurance, with a strength in written communication via email and reports. I write novels as a hobby, and they are inspired by the movies, games, and dramas I watch. I studied languages such as Japanese, Korean, Thai, Indonesian/Malay, and even studied a bit of French.
The translation work I have done so far usually comprise language pairs such as Chinese to English and Japanese to English, and occasionally Korean to English, and they cover all kinds of industries such as manufacturing, finance, IT, medical science, legal contracts, and so on.
I love watching dramas in the languages that I learn so as to familiarize myself with the language. The content I usually look at are videos of gameplay of computer games, such as Genshin Impact, Ace Attorney, Sonic the Hedgehog etc. I believe I would enjoy working with other translators and learning from their experience as native speakers to explore the languages further as I learn them.
I also have experience in photography and photo-editing, but I would consider them hobbies and side-skills rather than a profession.
I worked since 2007 as a Japanese to English translator, taking on both freelance and contract assignments.
From 2010, I joined CLS Communications as a full time Chinese to English translator for finance documents and also documents from other industries, where I also did QA work for translation done by other translators.
From 2014, I returned to being a freelance translator for 3 years, doing mainly Japanese to English, and Chinese to English. I started doing some Korean to English translation as well.
From 2017, I joined Unimatec Singapore as a Japanese Translator and Interpreter, and slowly adopted concurrent roles as admin support for document controller and IT Engineer for the QC Department.
