Role and Reflection of a Preschool Principal
Send a job offer directly to this candidate
I have spent most of my 30-yr career life mainly in the early childhood industry as a preschool principal. It is very challenging and requires much strategic planning and analytical skills apart from organising, leading, delegating, monitoring and resolving daily issues. In addition, I have to work with the various stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of the centre operation.
What keeps me going are having a positive mindset and the passion to serve the young ones. At the end of the day, if we can make anybody smile, it is worth all the effort.
As a preschool principal, I have to lead the team to providing quality service to the young preschoolers as well as the infants. To accomplish this, other determining factors such as the company financial well-being, enrolment status, market force, staff qualifications, experience, skills, attitude, welfare, centre physical environment, location, resources, families’ cultural behaviours and authority support come into play. Therefore a preschool principal or centre leader needs to plan and set goals, monitor, be consistently on your feet, multi-task, build good relationships with all stakeholders, be well informed and versatile, upgrade , innovate and eventually, report, reflect, re-assess any situation and do what is best for all.
