I am Lynette Tay and I am currently an undergraduate at NUS, majoring in English Literature and Communications and New Media. I enjoy reading and writing down my thoughts on the media I have consumed, as well as social issues and opinions on current affairs. I also enjoy keeping up with popular culture, whether it be through music, dramas and films.
I have interned at the immigration department of KPMG Singapore for about 5 months prior to entering university, helping with the compilation of documents to aid each individual client in their move to Singapore. In my time there, I also helped with the weekly updating and research on 11 different Asian countries on their COVID-19 policies as part of my duties under my superior. I have also drafted and copywritten letters for PR applications, which has increased my ability in doing research and concentrating relevant information into succinct writing.
I also have experience in tutoring as I participated in a tutoring programme in my junior college to mentor my juniors and prepare them for their A level examinations. This has given me experience in effective communication and thinking out of the box to help break down complicated concepts into bite-sized pieces for my audience.
I was a student in CHIJ St Nicholas Girls' School, and was enrolled under the Integrated Programme in my time there. I then went on to study at Eunoia Junior College and I was also a MOE Humanities Scholar as well as the vice-president of my CCA Symphonic Band. In August 2022, I matriculated into the National University of Singapore as a student in the College of Humanities and Sciences, under the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. My current majors are English Literature and Communications and New Media.
