Maya Bhasin

A little bit about me: I am currently a Content Designer at OKX, where I work on UX content for app screens of the crypto exchange app. I have more than a year of experience in the UX field, and a total of 2-3 years of experience in PR consultancies, as well as in-house social media and marketing roles. I believe my work experience is unique in the sense that these combination of roles have not only helped me to hone my design thinking, writing and communication skills but have more importantly allowed me to practice creativity in implementing solutions, and become a more all-rounded professional in terms of being familiar with peripheral skills that are important to UX careers.

I have lots of experience with conducting user research, such as planning usability testing sessions, in-depth interviews, and executing quantitative surveys. I also have experience with stakeholder management, and enjoy ideating with co-workers through quick Figjam sessions. I am able to share my design ideas effectively with others through wireframing, and receive feedback well through hosting low-fi to high-fi critiques with my other stakeholders.

I thoroughly enjoy the process of thinking about things from the user perspective. I am also familiar with Content Management Systems and Agile workflows.

I have a strong interest in communications-related UX work and the tech industry. I love working on projects where design thinking and user research meet copywriting. I believe words hold power, and the way we phrase our ideas can convey different messages, leading people to take different actions.

I have a Bachelors degree with Honours from Yale-NUS College in Global Affairs, with a minor in Anthropology. I have studied abroad at Yale University in the course Social Sciences for a Globalised World. As for Design-related education, I have taken UX-related courses such as Design Thinking & Creativity for Innovation at the University of Queensland, and the Google Careers Certificate in UX Design, for which I was awarded a scholarship.
