At the end of a five-year bachelor’s Law, and Political Science, and public administration programme, at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid; most of the professional options have crossed my mind already, or at least have been confronted as courses during the degree. Nevertheless, the one motivation that has kept constant throughout these five years, is the eagerness of comprehending the social, political, and economic reality which ultimately defines our behaviour in society. Therefore, the next question to bring up is: Where shall I start looking?
The most ambitious liberal project achieved in human history seems crucial to begin this learning project.
European Union, awakened in my academic and professional curiosity the perfect combination of legal, political, and economic understanding. The comprehension of the institutional and administrative deployment that the European Union needs, is a very challenging, but at the same time fulfilling, way of beginning my professional journey. Nevertheless, and considering my fascination with the economic approach to the main issues which surround us, forasmuch as my constant intention of becoming a lawyer; I decided to focus this European Union’s understanding on its legal resources to ensure perfect competition in the entire shared European market.
The Master’s European Competition Law Track offered by the Universiteit van Amsterdam seems an optimal way to fulfil this expectation, for several reasons: firstly, because of its location, considered one of the hubs for European Law legislation and studying; secondly, because of its practical orientation, which essentially differs from the more theoretical approach offered by the Spanish educational system; and finally, in direct relation the above mentioned, because of its economic approach, thought by experts in the discipline.
