My name is Chan Wing Tin, call me Wing. I have been an art enthusiast since a young boy, drawing and doodling whenever and wherever I can, on my notes, textbooks, homework. My influences came from cartoons, comics, and games. My family has always been supportive of my art endeavors, encouraging me to participate in art contests since young, and joining art clubs since Primary School.
It was not till Secondary School where I took Art as an academic subject where I began to dive deeper into the practice, and learning more from those all around me.
Throughout the years I have had the pleasure to further develop this passion through school clubs, competitions, building my own brand and business. Amidst the process, I have also begun doing freelance designing for various brands and organisations.
I never wish to stop drawing and designing, as I wish to spread my joy of drawing with more people, and hopefully encourage those who may be fearful to start trying to just dip their toes in it.
I have been taking Art as an academic subject since Secondary school, which led to me taking up all sorts of creative jobs; Wedding Videographer and Editor, Graphic designer at a Mental Health Social Enteprise, Marketing for a Gin Distillery, Freelance designer for school, and making my own merchandise brand. Above all, I would say that having dipped my toes in various creative spaces, I am a creative that likes to illustrate and draw, and also connect with different groups of people to solve problems in a visual and creative way.
Being in my Final Year in University right now, I have been fortunate to have been doing Art as an academic subject since Secondary school. It is these 4 years in University that better molded me not just as a more knowledgeable designer and illustrator, but also allowed for me to dabble in various skills that I would have never thought I would do. These include using coding to create art, having more hands-on experience with production, creating a 360 degree video project etc.
All these opportunities have led me to be more open-minded to the endless possibilities of Art and Design out there, which is a mindset I wish to carry over for my working years.
