Writers at Work hosts a rich array of professionals working in fields related to literary, book, and other arts, but distinct from academia. Showcasing the way writers and other artists find careers in which to apply their skills, and the ways art lovers bring the arts into their lives, editors, publishers, librarians, booksellers, arts administrators and other professionals share how their careers and their love of literary and other arts intersect.
WR!TERS @ WORK’s curriculum is built around visible thinking to take students on a journey. The writing programme stimulates their thinking, teaches them different ways to analyse composition questions, and trains them to plot interesting stories. We take a systematic and results-driven approach to learning, so students complete structured writing practices weekly.
To build on our students’ writing skills in preparation for PSLE, we familiarize them with the exam format. AtWR!TERS@WORK, we teach them examination skills and tips, as well as ways to plan and check their work within a restricted time frame. Students are introduced to original and classic story plots and learn how to use comic relief, romance, the main character’s internal struggles and real-life events for added inspiration.
