I completed my Master of English Language Education through Sanata Dharma University, Indonesia in 2020. During that time, I had the opportunity to develop my skills both professionally as a teacher, and personally through organizations and communities in Indonesia. The following year, I then began my teaching experience in Thailand and it has been more than 2 years now.
My most current professional experience is teaching primary students here in Nakhon
Ratchasima at Senanukroh School, Thailand. It is here where I teach English for communication to young children in grades 4 to 6, ranging from ages 9 - 12. Here I have developed vibrant teaching strategies and lessons, as well as supervised student assessments, observed student progress, and given learning support to students when needed.
Two favorite activities I do that students love are using the Jeopardy platform to review lessons and paired or group role-play scenarios to actively practice their speaking. Previous to that, I was also teaching online via Google Meet in my first few months here before transitioning to onsite classes.
Another experience that I have, has included teaching English conversation, General
English, English for Specific Purposes, and TOEFL, both face-to-face and online, to teenage and adult learners ranging between 14 to 40 years old at Discovery English
Jogja in Indonesia. During my time there, I maintained engagement with students by incorporating website platforms that feature quizzes, games, or wall discussions to activate their participation in each class.
What's more, I also tried making use of different ways of interacting with students to encourage and engage them to actively practice the target language. These activities included paired or group work to present findings to the class, debates to trigger and share opinions and thoughts, and gallery walks to spark discussion around the class through pictures, short texts, or quotes.
I completed my studies both bachelor's and master's in English language Education. It was there that I could practice the theory of teaching and get a hands-on experience with students to deepen my professional as a teacher.
