My name is Christopher Outten and I am a Primary English Teacher at Anglo Singapore International School. I started there in January 2021 and I have been teaching P3, P4, P5 and P6 students. Additionally, I also have been Pastoral Care and Global Perspectives teacher. I have been teaching English in Thailand for 12 years now. I am writing to introduce myself to you in the hope of consideration for the position of 'Primary class teacher'.
I currently hold a Bachelors of Arts in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) with honours, TEFL and TESOL certificates of Education and a TYL (Teaching Young Learners) certificate of Education. I also graduated with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education through the University of Nottingham (2022). I enjoy working with young learners and challenging them to reach their full potential. Throughout my teaching career, I have built great rapport with students, parents and co-workers.
My philosophy of education is that students should be encouraged to learn in a holistic environment. This can be accomplished through student-centered active learning. We learn better by participating. It is my goal to guide students in their studies and make them feel safe and comfortable in their school environment. I believe it is important for parents and teachers to have a positive relationship while also maintaining open and honest communication.
