Clive Matumbu

Experienced and certified Elementary and Middle School Teacher with over 17 years of experience teaching in diverse elementary and middle classroom settings. Effective communicator proficient in developing and delivering lesson plans that emphasize Common Core Standards, and positive results. Adept in using differentiated curriculum to address the various learning styles and needs of students, while ensuring information retainment.

Bringing forth excellent classroom management techniques, conducive to creating an environment best suited for learning and growing. Cooperative faculty member who productively collaborates with all levels of school staff, as well as with the families of students.

I have taught for over 18 years and have 8 years teaching experience in Asia (China and Thailand). I have also taught in South Africa for 10 years. I have taught classrooms of up to 40 students and also have experience in small classes and one on one classes.

I have taught from K3 to High School but mostly Middle School hence my interest in the vacancy. My impact as a teacher extends beyond scores to focus on each individual student. I hold a Bachelor of Sports Science and Coaching and have also been teaching PE during most of my teaching experience.

My philosophy of education is that all students are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. It is my desire to create this type of atmosphere where students can meet their full potential.

At the University of Stellenbosch, I obtained my Bachelor of Sports Science and Coaching, and a Bachelor of Education. I then went on to obtain my Masters of Arts Specializing in English Language and Literature from University of Cape town.
