We have two biracial adult sons. Also, I am a graduate of a historically black college/university with a BA degree and MS degree in criminal justice. At the time I attended Chicago State University, an “HBCU” it had a 95 % black student body, and a near 100 % black administration and faculty. I am also a former police officer and a veteran of the US Army. During my 12 years as a police officer I was assigned to a patrol beat in an all-black community, served with a black partner for 8 years. My 3 years of military serve was in integrated units. I have lived much of my life in majority black areas, attended majority black schools, elementary through university. My personal library contains more than 400 books pertaining to race and/or racial matters. My life experiences, and my formal education, I believe qualifies me to lecture/teach/comment/debate America’s most pressing internal issue facing our nation: “Race in America Today”.
