Agentic AI API Developer (Commerce & Integrations)

Requirements

Must have:

- Extensive backend development experience in crafting RESTful APIs and integration services at scale.

• Demonstrated knowledge of authentication and authorization principles for API access.
• Practical experience with API orchestration and composition techniques across diverse services.
• Proven track record in delivering production-grade software (beyond mere prototypes).
• Expertise with MCP Server, which is essential for this role.
• Understanding of agentic workflows and the interaction of agents with tools/APIs.

Responsibilities:

- Design and develop scalable, secure RESTful APIs to facilitate commerce and agentic workflows for external partners.

• Construct API orchestration layers that consolidate several downstream services and APIs into cohesive business processes.
• Employ an API-first development approach while supporting the necessary API lifecycle activities for widespread usage.
• Establish and verify appropriate authentication and authorization methods suitable for enterprise and third-party interactions.
• Create or integrate MCP server interfaces or equivalent layers that connect APIs to enable agentic interactions.
• Assist in the integration of agentic workflows, including tool invocation patterns, orchestration flows, and integration agreements.
• Develop and implement third-party integrations using strong integration architectures that avoid fragile point-to-point connections.
• Contribute to fast-paced partner proof-of-concepts (POCs) and their transition from POC to production with a focus on quality and repeatability.
• Generate production-ready code, incorporating AI-assisted development techniques wherever relevant.
• Formulate testing strategies that are appropriate for the variability associated with AI/agentic outputs.
• Collaborate closely with incubation and acceleration teams initially, then help enhance the pod delivery process as the project scope becomes more defined.
• Function effectively within a pod model characterized by rapid onboarding, iterative staffing, and fast delivery cycles.
